Police asked not to defend criminals

David Kugonza | March 28, 2019

By Ritah Kemigisa.

The police force has been asked to stop defending errant officers when they commit crimes.

This comes from David Egesa a security expert following the alleged shooting of a suspect in the attempted assassination on the ICT minister Idah Nantaba.

Egesa wonders how one suspect who had already been handcuffed could overpower the police men in uniform.

It is from this that he has asked the police Force to distance itself from petty offenses and ensure that it thoroughly investigates and brings to book all officers who are connected to the incident.
